Focal Point and Rule of Thirds

This is a photo I took last winter.

Rule of Thirds

Here I placed the eye at one of the thirds lines intersection points. It would have come out better if the forelock wasn't covering the eye so much.

Locating the Horizon

One of the few times I've caught a colorful sunset around my house.

Using Lines

Shot last spring. I would have liked it better if there had been something more interesting down the road.

I really liked the lines I saw on this tree farm, rows and rows of trees. Again, I wish there had been something else, such as a building, at end of a row to draw the eye. Also, I wish I had used a larger aperture value to bring the distance more into focus.

Framing

This is a shot I took last April at an overlook on the Appalachian trail, north of Dahlonega, Georgia. It was the middle of the day and hazy. I want to go back this fall when the leaves are changing and take some more, early or late in the day on a clearer day.
